The LifeX Network in Action

Made Possible By Our Supporters & Partners

LifeX brings experienced individuals into the ecosystem to support founders, advance commercialization, and contribute to startup programming. There are a range of opportunities to engage across LifeX programs, initiatives, and events, depending on your interests, expertise, and availability.

Ways to Contribute

Engagement Process

As programming opportunities arise, we present them to the pool of expert candidates so that they may apply to specific opportunities that are relevant to their competency and background.

The Embedded Entrepreneur

The Embedded Entrepreneur (EE) role is part of the Connect program through which LifeX pairs university-affiliated spinouts with a hands-on operator whose role is to lead a transition from academic project to venture-backable startup.

Embedded entrepreneurs are not poised to act as an advisory consultant or mentor, but rather an active team member within a startup positioned to remain engaged beyond the scope of LifeX programming. Think of this role as an entry point to defining a leadership role within a company.

LifeX supports fractional compensation for EEs during an initial engagement with a company participating in Accelerator or Launchpad programming.

Embedded Entrepreneur Responsibilities

Application Process

As we identify viable Connect startups, we present them to the pool of EE candidates so that they may apply to specific opportunities that are relevant to their interests, expertise, and background.

Accelerator Internship
This is an experiential learning opportunity for students interested in careers with life science and healthcare startups. In this internship, students are paired with a company in the Accelerator program and work with the team to complete commercialization work.

Internship Focus Areas

We have typically seen interns in the Accelerator program support startups through projects related to stakeholder discovery, market analysis, business model development, regulatory strategy, pitch deck development, and more.
